Pay day loan scams are nothing new, unfortunately, but they keep growing and people are finding new ways to get your information. A research group recently discovered that one particular website, Usearching.info, sells personal information to just about anyone who has any money. This information includes bank account and routing numbers, Social Security numbers, names, addresses, dates of birth, etc. It also states the status of the loan people applied for when they applied online. Most people never in fact got any of these loans, but that doesn’t stop scammers from calling them (and having their information) demanding payments. Criminals have been collecting millions of dollars for years this way. Credit.com goes more in depth about the problem and what the researchers found.
